December 1 is the world AIDS DAY. It’s a devastating disease. The best treatment is prevention of the horrible condition. On this occasion let’s know how HIV VIRUS attacks our body.
Let’s understand the tale of HIV virus attacking our body. It’s a beautiful but fatal story of an aggressive and violent intruder breaking a great wall of defence stealthily and successfully. It’s equivalent to a small platoon of soldiers entering your body without your knowledge. Just like the fall of the city of TROY. The city of TROY brought the trojan horse inside their city. Then the soldiers inside the horse came out stealthily and destroyed the defence. Then the waiting soldiers attacked the weak city and captured it. Here’s a step-by-step explanation of how HIV infects and affects the body:
Step 1: Entry into the Body
HIV enters the body through bodily fluids. The small platoon of HIV which could never enter directly, if the body allows it enters through body fluids. Just like Troy people brought the trozan horse inside, human take in the infected body fluid inside. Then stealthily it destroys our body.

– Vaginal fluids
– Breast milk
– Rectal fluids
Step 2: Binding to WHITE blood Cells
HIV binds to CD4 cells (also known as T-cells), which are a type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in the immune system. They are the defence system of body.
Step 3: Fusion and Entry
The HIV virus fuses with the CD4 cell membrane, releasing its genetic material (RNA) into the cell. The zombied cell work for the virus. Just like the soldiers used the weapons of TROY to destroy the city.
Step 4: Replication
HIV replicates itself inside the CD4 cell, using the cell’s machinery to produce new viral particles.
Step 5: Destruction of immunity Cells
As HIV replicates, it destroys the CD4 cells, weakening the immune system. Stealthily it kills all protective cells of our immune system.
Step 6: Immune System Suppression
The depletion of CD4 cells impairs the immune system’s ability to fight off infections and diseases. Now as the defence forces have gone the other infective cells attack.
Step 7: Several Infections
As the immune system weakens, the body becomes susceptible to opportunistic infections (OIs) and cancers. The outside soldiers got entry inside and seized the complete city.
Step 8: AIDS
If left untreated, HIV infection can progress to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), a condition characterized by severe immune system damage and increased susceptibility to OIs and cancers. Just avoid the exchange of body fluids.
Early detection, treatment, and prevention are crucial in combating HIV/AIDS. This tale is equivalent to a mediaeval capture of a forte. The only way of protection is to stop entry by not letting in the hiv virus.
